Robson Street

2018 - PARK(ing) Day installations

2019 - Parklet installations

2020 - Sidewalk widening, parklet expansions, bus bulges

Robson is a dynamic street where people go to shop and be seen with lots of sidewalk activity. In response to COVID-19, this project widens sidewalks creating more space for people, through painted concrete barriers, modular accessible ramps, expanded parklets, and bus bulges.

Rapid Response.

As part of public life and business recovery efforts, this short video captures the transformation of three blocks on Robson Street into places to gather and sit, guided by the West End Public Benefits Strategy.

In leading the design and technical coordination, I worked with a team in rapidly repurposing curb lanes for sidewalk widening and bus bulges. These are the first stops in Vancouver to prioritize transit in a single travel lane.
