Plazas
While at the City of Vancouver, I applied my thesis work on tactical urbanism as program manager of parklets and pavement-to-plazas. I led a team in developing a kit-of-parts for each public space typology drawing from lessons learned and expanding on design guidelines, which became a resource for public life and business recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the Post-Pandemic World Symposium hosted by the University of Alberta, AI4Society, and Reimagine Architects, I co-authored a paper titled Public Life: Realizing road reallocation projects in Vancouver and beyond the pandemic, to be included as a chapter in an upcoming book publication.
Pavement-to-Plaza Videos
The following videos feature the first plazas designed and built in Vancouver as part of the Pavement-to-Plaza program. I shot before and after footage using a Sony α6500 camera and edited the videos in Adobe Premier Pro.
